From AI-Enabled Tiny Homes to Zero-Waste Notebooks

Future-forward concepts, eco-conscious architecture, and post-pandemic innovations appear to be key drivers shaping the 2022 art and design trends. Of course, this shouldn't come as a surprise considering the world has emerged from another year in which innovation was dominated by pressures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change awareness, and the increased consumer demand for integrated high-tech experiences.
A deluge of exciting eco-friendly architectural designs debuted in 2021, with a notable rise in the launch of prefabricated homes and workspaces -- a trend that will carry into 2022. For example, for professionals tight on space, Cosmas Bronsgeest launched 'My Home Office,' an all-season prefab office pod constructed using FSC-certified larch wood. Meanwhile, Hide and Seek debuted the 'Aranka,' a sustainably designed pod built for off-grid living.
Elsewhere, a variety of far-out design concepts were debuted, showcasing the kind of future-forward thinking we can expect in 2022. These include the 'Hoito' face mask, which can be used to dose wearers with medicine contact-free, and the carbon belt-powered 'LARA' cargo bike designed by Alexander Kaula.
